DGTL is a festival that deals with the sustainable impact. The Volkskrant writes: "At DGTL you do not have to feel guilty about your ecological footprint." The festival focuses full-time on sustainability and behavioral change.. DGTL welcomes some 40 thousand visitors in a 'circular food system'. This means that no waste has to yield more. For example, food remains are used as compost and biodegradable plates and dishes are transformed into potting soil. There is also no meat for sale at the festival and there is a deposit for hard plastic drinking cups that are returned. In addition, DGTL is the first festival to deploy Augmented Reality. You have to download an app here and then you can find the stages, bars, toilets and art through the app! How genius?
