The best and tastiest açai bowls of Amsterdam!

Açaï bowls - who does not know them? The latest trend in healthy eating. Where you can score this healthy breakfast? You can find that in the next article.

The bowl is based on the acai berry, a dark blue / purple berry that grows in the Amazon region in South America: Brazil, Suriname and Peru. From this berry, acai bowls are now being made in more and more hip healthy hotspots. The taste can be compared with blueberry, nuts and chocolate. Why are they so healthy? They are packed with antioxidants! And we like that. You can also easily make the bowl at home by buying frozen acai in a natural store, blending it with banana and choosing your toppings! How açai is pronounced, opinions are divided, but if we can believe the internet you speak as assa-ie. Curious? Go and give it a try!

1). Juice Brothers

To start with my favorite right away. Juice Brothers can be found at multiple locations in Amsterdam and is without a doubt the best in the list. I would recommend taking the açai bowl with almond: oh my lord, so good! If that does not sound good to you, I would go for the choco protein, also a topper. The bowl consists of the açai smoothie as base and the homemade granola of Juice Brothers, goji berries, cocoa nips, banana and of course almond butter if you choose here. I always think the bowl is the best food at Juice Brothers, but you can also choose to pick it up (saves plastic if you do not!). At Juice Brothers you can also - yes - buy juices, energy balls and even more tasty things. They do not sell coffee here anyway! Price: € 9.50.

2). Corner Bakery

Corner Bakery: a super popular tent for tourists, but certainly not less fun. This option is not necessarily for the healthy lovers among us, but it is good for scoring an açai bowl. It is really a cute, white and pink spot with the most delicious breakfast bowls and sandwiches. Do you like sugar and do you want to go for a guilty pleasure? The unicorn milkshakes will make your day even better. They are impressive and instagrammable. You may have to wait a while before you can get a table, but it is worth the wait. I have not tried the açai bowl myself, but he is still high in my to try list. I have already been once for the yogurt with granola and it was really delicious. The bowl is super big, so you certainly do not have to be afraid to leave the Corner Bakery. I think the granola is slightly less healthy, because it is made with a lot of sugar but it is really tasty (and I am a real granola fan so I have a lot of experience).

Corner Bakery - Johannes Vermeerstraat 40, 1071 DS Amsterdam (open daily from 08.00-17.00)

3). Pluck

This is also a bit of a cute place where many tourists come, but is still fun. It is a little girlie , but definitely recommended. Pluk is a breakfast and lunch café with a shop. You can buy the best products here, both in the store and online. Recently the second location of Pluk opened, both located in the 9 streets. And we like that. So if you're shopping in the 9 streets, this is the perfect place for a lunch stop. Note: the tarts on the counter can tempt you to go for a dessert! So, back to the açai bowl. The açai bowl from Pluk is a bit sweeter than you're used to. Are you with company that does not like acai? Then Pluk also has plenty of other things on offer: sandwiches, poké bowls, the delicious cakes on the counter and other smoothie bowls. In short: something for everyone. And as the Corner Bakery has a unicorn milkshake, Pluk has a unicorn smoothie bowl. Worth a try! Enjoy.

Pluk - Reestraat 19, 1016 DM Amsterdam (open daily from 09.00-18.00)

4). Coffee Room

If you are a loyal Let's Stay blog reader, you've already seen it pass by. Coffee Room already appeared in our articles about the best coffee in Amsterdam. As you could read there, Coffee Room is the ideal place for a coffee date and an afternoon of laptop time. Having lunch? No problem. The acai bowl here is served all day and is GOOD. It is my number two favorite (after Juice Brothers) although it is also a bit of a place. The açai bowl at Coffee Room is actually a bit cheaper than that of the Juice Brothers.

Coffee Room - Kinkerstraat 110, 1053 EC Amsterdam (opening hours: Mon-Fri: 08.00-19.00, Sat-Sun: 09.00-19.00)

5). Zest For Life

I recently discovered this hotspot and I'm a bit sneaky fan. It is not really a popular place, but has become more and more recent months. Zest serves raw vegan food. This means that it has not exceeded a certain temperature level. Yet they can make a vegan burger and Pad Thai for you. Recently they also have tapas on the menu. A very cozy, filling and tasty lunch for a long meal together and chatting. Zest is next to a healthy café also organizer of retreats, detox trips and treatments and holidays. Another nice hotspot to score an açai bowl. If you prefer to eat yogurt, choose the coconut yogurt, which is in fact served in Coconut Bowl, you indeed can score yourself here if you want to work with your acai bowl! They are also currently experimenting with dinner, so keep an eye on their Facebook page!

Zest For Life - Van Baerlestraat 45 hs (opening times: Monday closed, Tue-Fri: 09.00-22.00, Sat-Sun: 10.00-22.00)

6). Brazuca

Brazuca now has two locations in Amsterdam and one in Rotterdam. It is good place for good coffee. You can choose from different types of coffee, just under the filter coffee you have a choice of different types. Brazuca is picked in Brazil, burned in Amsterdam. You may understand that the beans are from Brazil. Let this also be a place where the acai berry comes from! On the menu the acai bowl is offered as açai na tigela. Have you gotten hungry? For Brazuca Coffee you have to go to the Rijnstraat and otherwise Ferdinand Bolstraat in De Pijp. Price: € 7.80

Brazuca Coffee Rijnstraat - Rijnstraat 22 (opening hours: Mon - Fri: 7.30 - 18.00 Sat and Sun: 8.00 - 18.00

Brazuca Coffee De Pijp - Ferdinand Bolstraat 113 H (opening hours: Mon - Fri: 7 am - 7 pm, Sat - Sun: 8 am - 7 pm).

7). Koala Republic

At Koala you can not only eat an acai bowl, but you can also eat it "above the ground". The photo actually says enough. This cafe is also a must to visit. It is decorated in a Scandinavian style and is located near Mercatorplein. The dishes are healthy and it is the perfect place for a cozy coffee date or when you want to work.

Koala Republic - Jan Evertsenstraat 115, 1057 BT Amsterdam (open daily from 09.00-17.00)
